Herbalism 101: Taking up the Path of Herbal Wisdom and Holistic Healing

Many people are interested in taking the first steps to use local plants and mushrooms to heal.  But how do you get started? Where do you get high-quality information?  How do you use herbs not only to treat conditions but to enhance your quality of life and live longer?  What is an “herbal thinking system” and how do you use one? In this 2-hour interactive workshop, we explore the foundations of holistic herbalism: how to think like an herbalist, the foundations upon which herbalism rests, how to source and prepare herbs, and how to begin to chart a path towards plant-based healing.  Participants will have an opportunity to identify one way that herbs can improve their lives.  The class will include hands-on and experiential opportunities where you will be able to identify a health concern and formulate an herbal tea to support their journey. 

Instructor and location: Dana Driscoll, co-founder, Pennsylvania School of Herbalism.  Location: The Artist Hand Gallery, 732 Philadelphia St, Indiana, PA 15701. We will be in the back of the Artist Hand in the Studio Space (parking in back or on Philadelphia Street).

Level: All are welcome. This class is specifically designed for those new or newer on the herbalism path.
