The Medicine of Conifers: Conifer Resin Salves (AKA: yes, you can make salve from your Christmas tree! Indiana, PA)

Join Dana from the Pennsylvania School of Herbalism to explore the medicine of conifer resins—including those typically found in your pine, spruce, or fir holiday tree!  In this class, we will explore the many medicinal properties of resin, pitch, and sap from conifer trees and learn how these substances have been turned into salves, fresh wound care, incense, tinctures, and more over time.  We will also discuss ways of harvesting resin safely and ethically, how to process resin, and what tools and equipment are needed.  In the hands-on portion of the class, we will also create two medicinal preparations with a festive holiday theme: a pine resin salve, which is outstanding for wound car,e and a festive conifer needle tea.

Location and Instructor:  Dana Driscoll, co-founder, Pennsylvania School of Herbalism.  Located at the Artist Hand Gallery (in the back studio area) in Indiana, PA.
